Sims 4 Crashes out of memory 2024

Sims crashes after the latest update with out of memory error. I have tried every solution i could find here but nothing works, so please dont copy/paste the same solutions.
The reason for this new post is excactly to find a solution i havent tried yet and havent been able to find here.

So if there is anyone who knows something new please let me know. I cant post a dxdiag cause the laptop is my daughters and she is away at school until christmas.

@75723156470cd198  Every time a Sims 4 update changes the game's executable file, there's a chance an antivirus program will flag the .exe even when it didn't before.  That's just how these programs work, although some work better than others.  And that doesn't take into account new features an AV may add in an update.  Some are supposed to provide more robust protections but end up blocking perfectly legitimate actions as well.

For Defender, here's how to set exceptions in Controlled Folder Access:

I would still like to know whether this happens immediately after restarting the computer.  It's possible that running too many other programs is the issue, whether your daughter is aware or they're just running in the background.  It would also be helpful to know how much RAM is in use after a restart, with nothing opened (deliberately) other than the Task Manager, and of course how much memory is installed.  Bloatware can be a real problem and doesn't always make itself known.

  • @75723156470cd198  I can't do much without a dxdiag.  Perhaps your daughter could run one and email it to you, or post in this thread from her account.

In the interim, ask her whether this happens if she plays Sims 4 immediately after restarting her computer, with nothing else open other than the EA App.

This is also occasionally an antivirus-related issue, so have your daughter check her AV for any actions related to Sims 4, and unblock/allow access if necessary.

  • She reinstalled the game and it still happens. No packs no mods.

About antivirus (Windows Defender) I have no clue where to look or how to make exceptions. But she has 3000 hours in this game on this and another machine. So unless it has made an automatic change it shouldnt be the antivirus imo.
