Sims 4 crashing help!!!

My game crashes on the first loading screen. It was working fine about and hour ago, then I closed it and went to play again and it just keeps crashing. I had only installed one new mod so I deleted ...

    @donishawhite  Sure, you can uninstall both the game and the EA App.  Start with Sims 4:

    • Put aside your Sims 4 folder in Documents\Electronic Arts and rename it to something that doesn't include the words "Sims 4."
    • Download Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine) from here.
    • Launch Revo, select Sims 4 from the list, and click Uninstall.
    • Cancel the system restore point; you don't need it.
    • Once the game is uninstalled, select "Moderate" under "scanning modes," and click Scan.
    • Review the list, in case there's something you want to save; otherwise, click Select All, and then Delete.
    • Close Revo, and restart your computer.

    For the EA App:

    • Launch Revo, select the App, and click Uninstall.
    • Cancel the system restore point.
    • The EA App may open a window.  Click Uninstall, then in the Revo window, click Moderate under Scanning modes, and click Scan.
    • Revo will present a list of registry entries.  Click Select All, then Delete: you don't need or want to preserve these entries.
    • For the leftover files and folders, click Select All, review the list and deselect anything you'd like to keep (this is unlikely, but it's worth checking), click Delete, and you're done.
    • Close Revo, and restart your computer.

    Install the EA App, then create a new folder into which you'll install Sims 4.  The folder should be on the root level of the drive of your choice, for example D:\Games is fine, but not D:\Program Files\Games.

Omg i appreciate your help so much, i’ve been playing the game for a while now first with no mods or cc and now i’m playing with mods on one of my dummy saves and everything seems to be running smooth. One last question what would you recommend are the best graphics settings for this laptop while also letting the game run smoothly?

@donishawhite  The best settings are the ones that you feel provide the best balance of performance and quality.  There's no harm in turning up the settings, other than the hit to performance.  So feel free to experiment.  As long as your laptop can cool itself properly—make sure it's on a hard flat surface and its vents are not obstructed—there's no danger in turning up the settings.

I can't give you a good answer because players can have vastly different priorities.  For example, one might want their game to be rendered at the highest quality possible, for personal enjoyment or for screenshots, while another might get headaches if the game gets too choppy.  Some might care more about how sims look, and others might care more about the lighting or the scenery.  So figure out what matters to you and how much of a performance hit you're willing to take, and that's the right answer.
