Sims 4 crashing in the middle of my game

I have been having trouble with my sims 4 crashing my computer, out of nowhere, in the middle of my game. The screen just goes black, the computer doesnt shut down, but it acts as if it did. I have to manually shut it down and restart to get back on. It started out of the blue, my game was working just fine last month. Ive tried removing mods, and verifying my files. I am not very tech savvy, but love playing sims. I have had my sons look at it for me, they say maybe its a problem with the latest update, but I am very frustrated about it. Can anyone please help me figure out what is wrong?
