Sims 4 Crashing since Last Update

So ever since my game updated with the 09/18 update it has constantly been crashing. I've never had this problem before. I do play on a laptop, but I've had this laptop for over a year now and have not had any issues besides maybe some lag. I have done a few things like redownload the EA app and repeatedly repaired the Sims 4 and reinstalled it as well. I've also cleared the EA cache too. I would say the game crashes between 2-5 minutes after playing in live mode. I have no mods installed and the game appears to be fully up to date. I really just have no clue what is going on and am starting to get incredibly frustrated, especially since it is making it hard to complete the Reaper's Rewards event. Any suggestions would be great!

@faremaiden33  Yes, you did it correctly.  Please force Sims 4 to use DirectX 11 mode; DX9 often doesn't work on graphics chips like the one in your laptop.  Open the EA App game library, click Sims 4 > Manage > View properties, and add -dx11 in the command line box.

  • I'm also having a very similar issue. I'm able to play for however long until my sim travels to another lot and then it won't load when I try to go elsewhere. It's also occurred when attempting to launch the game. It just stays stuck on the loading screen. I've attempted to repair my game multiple times, completely uninstalled and reinstalled it and cleared all previous saves when I did that. I was really hoping that when I updated my game this morning it'd fix it but it has not.

  • I haven't had as much travel with crashing during travelling or launching personally. My crashes have been happening it seems when I try to move the camera. Like when I am dragging, changing floors, and turning the camera. I was also hoping this would be fixed with the update from 10/01, but it continues to persist. I can't figure out any problem on my end and if you are having a similar issue I have to assume it is the game.
