sims 4 crashing

so since the recent update, sims has been crashing randomly. sometimes its as soonas i open the game, sometimes its in the middle of playing but i cant get it to run for longer than 20ish miniutes before it fully crashes, when it crashes my desktop turns black and my icons multiuply and overlap, when i run my mouse over it it turns back to normal. im incredibly confused and have absoloutkley no idea why this is happening, ive updated all my mods and removed all of the broken and outdated mods/cc. an error came up a couple of times saying "the exception unknown softwatre exeption (0xe0000008) occured in the application at location 0x00007FFABF911B6A". i have tried fully reloading and rebooting steam but the issue keeps persisting. ive never had this issue before and ive tried everything google has said. what do i do?

If you get another crash, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
