sims 4 dark GUI

Dark GUI for the Sims 4?

I'm a software engineer, and I stare full days to my screen. Luckily, most IDEs come with a dark interface so it won't hurt the eyes so much and/or so quickly. However, The Sims 4 has a horrible bright GUI. I like to play it every once in a while, but it's really tiring for the eyes. Any changes on a really dark grey GUI option (like this nice little section I made. See how much calmer it is to the eyes. Gotta love HTML input. Wonder what happens if I try to make DataBase connections or javascript scripts tho. Let's not try that now :P)? I can find a mod for loading screens which helps a lot, but nothing for the entire GUI. I really hope recoloring every texture of the GUI myself won't be my only option. By that, I think I may not be the only one who would love a more eye-friendly GUI, seeing the rise of "night mode" and "dark themes" in software GUIs lately.

Oh sorry. I see. I'll do that tomorow then. It's half past 2 now :o

White writing on black background really hurts my eyes and for a few minutes after looking at it all I can see is black lines in my vision. I have to invert the screen to read it comfortably. We're not all the same 🙂

It's actually dark grey background with light grey writing. Black and white indeed has too much contrast and hurts the eyes too. It's generally really loved with programmers, because we stare hours to our screen every day. But if you after a day programming start the sims, that really hurts the eyes too xD.

There is a reason windows 10, office, 9gag, vlc, and many others are having dark modes lately. Many sites like YouTube have plug-ins to make them this colours, and any proper programming program comes with a dark grey option too. Scientifically, it's been proven to be less tiring for human eyes, but I would really want to see it as optional. The white version should stay for those who prefer it. The image is favorite my programming program (IDE) for example.

I should have been more specific - any light writing on a dark background affects me. Just reading your opening post for a few seconds hurts my eyes 🙂  When I'm using Terminal it is always black writing on a white background. There are mods available which can alter the lighting in the game, have you looked into them or even written one yourself? That's probably the closest you'll get at the moment.

Yeah but in-game I have no problems. It's more menus and stuff that's horribly bright. I have found a mod for loading screens, but I cant find any for the full gui. I hope I won't have to do it myself as the menus change every once in a while with updates and expansions and it would keep me working on patches. That and it's a horrible lot of work to edit every image in a gui.
