Sims 4: Dec 12, 2017 Glitched Start Up

Sims 4 Update Version: 1.37.35.1010

I haven't seen anyone else mention this online but after I got the Dec 12th (2017) update for Sims 4, my game start up and screen menu is glitched out! I'll provide a video for ya'll to see but it's really weird! The glitch doesn't "work" if I try to use my screen recording software (Open Broadcasting Studio) to record the problem. I had to use my phone to record what goes on when I try open my game to try and play it.

I don't have any mods or custom content for any of the Sims 4 game/extension packs. I have four extensions: Cats & Dogs, City Living, Get Together, and Get To Work. I use an ACER PC with Windows 10 and Origin and Sims 4 are updated. I have no idea why the Sims 4 screen does this but I have uninstalled and reinstalled Sims 4 to get the same glitchy top results.

The video file is to large to upload so I've provided a dailymotion link to the video here: [video]

  • I was still working on this post @CMeki 🙂

Your card is indeed a bit borderline. I would suggest playing around with the graphic settings a bit, like the vsync. You might just be able to get it to work.

It might be handy to get a stronger computer for playing games.

Your computer doesn't meet the system requirements. You need 128 MB of dedicated memory. Your graphics drivers are a few months old though, you can always try updating them and hope it works!

  • Alright! Thank you! I'll look into how to fix or update those!

    EDIT:

I updated my graphics card and the glitchy effect went away! However, I think I'll be saving up for a proper gaming computer since I'm just using an ordinary all-in-one PC.
