Sims 4 doesn’t update

I have played sims on my PC for three years now, and have never had an issue with updates before. But when the natures calling event came out, my game showed no option to update on either the EA app or on STEAM. Without this update my game kept crashing only a few seconds after it loads live mode. I tried removing my mods but nothing changed. The only solution I found was to uninstall my game and reinstall it. Then it had the update and ran smoothly.

When the next update came out (the one preparing the game for the Enchanted By Nature expansion pack release) my game once again showed no option to update. I then uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and it reinstalled with the update.  

This is very frustrating having to uninstall and reinstall the game, waiting nearly an hour for this to complete, every time an update comes out just so my game will run.
