sims 4 freezes in fullscreen

Hey all, I've been having issues with my sims 4 all day. I use Windows 10. I've tried removing CC, mods, past saves, clearing the EA cache, uninstalling/reinstalling, and repairing dozens of times. So far, I'm only able to get to the home screen before it all freezes up and I can't move my mouse. I managed to exit fullscreen and the game works in the mini window, but not in fullscreen which means there's still an issue. As far as I know I removed my mods correctly, by removing them from the EA folder on my computer and placing them in the desktop. Not sure what else to do. I can send photos of what my EA folder looks like right now if it's any insight.

  • Hi @ClaudiaSoup

    Try the following

    • Close the game
    • Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
    • Repair the game
    • Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry
    • Start a new save game
    • Check if you still have the error
    • Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.
  • Hi @crinrict ! The problem is actually worse now which I'm a little surprised at! I had been playing in just a windowed fullscreen mode, but then my game got stuck on a save screen so I decided to go back to trying to fix it. I created the "_Old" folder, repaired, and when the game opened up it only had half the blue opening screen. Repaired again, got stuck on a green diamond (not moving, but the music was playing). I'm now attempting a third repair but my EA app just crashed! I'm not sure what to do now, but I'll keep attempting repairs in the meantime.

@ClaudiaSoup Could you post your Computer's DxDiag?

    - Press Windows-Key + R
    - Type: DxDiag
    - Click on Save all Information.
    - Attach the Text File to your post

    Also try reinstalling EA app.
