I tried to uninstall the microsoft visual c++ things and it gives me an error saying "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" would factory resetting my computer work too? im not great with this tech crap
@Jun3xs Just to be clear, this problem happens when trying to uninstall, not reinstall? If so, try running the installers without uninstalling first. You may get the option to repair, in which case select that. You can also try the Repair option that shows up in the same location as Uninstall; just download the installer from Microsoft first so it can be used to repair.
Another option to try is this troubleshooter from Microsoft:
If neither of these helps, I'd like to make sure that the VC++ 2010 runtimes are the actual issue here rather than a distraction. So please try to play Sims 4 again, and when it freezes, look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor. Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day. Today is on the right.
Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent freeze, or any error that mentions Sims 4 from that last play session. If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here. If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.
You could of course factory reset your computer, which would likely solve all the problems that currently exist, however many there are. But that would mean losing all your data and personal settings and having to reinstall your apps, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you have very little time invested in setting up this system.
