Sims 4 Froze and won’t Close

I was trying to edit a toddler on Sims 4 and the whole thing suddenly just froze. I can’t close it, move the mouse—anything. I tried hitting the esc key, nothing. At some point the regular mouse came out, but that just froze as well. I tried to just shut my laptop’s screen down, and when I opened it it was still there.

I just bought two expansion packs, and have a few CCs downloaded. (I also have the UI Cheats mod, so that might be it.)

I play on Windows 10(?). I’m not sure how I close it.

  • I was able to fix it. I had to hold my power down and wait for the screen to go black, then I hit it again. It started back up as normal.

  • Even though is rare, that has happened to me before. My best bet is always  ctrl+alt+delete  that will take you out from the frozen window, so you can open Task Manager from there, and then close Sims4 from task manager. (find the program, right click and choose "end task")

In any kind of computer related issue, forcing a shutdown should always be your last resort

  • @Valadenthys Omg thank you this worked!!! Mine freezes very often and I’ve always had to shut my computer down manually and it would always lose progress. Tyyyy now I can resume my game by pressing ctrl alt delete <3!!!
