sims 4 gaming lagging
hey so my game is lagging really bad the loading menu takes forever and when the sims are walking or anything its lags real bad idk i its my mods or cc but I played the smooth before with cc and mod...

@zelneciaaaa It looks like your system is running low on memory while you play, which would result in performance issues for Sims 4. Even though you're not using all the system RAM in the screenshot, the game will use a lot more than what you're showing in most circumstances.
The best thing you can do here is shut down all background tasks before playing; restarting your computer is an efficient way to do this most of the time. After restarting but before opening Sims 4, confirm in the Task Manager that your system's total memory use (at 91% in your screenshot) is around 50%, no higher, which is what Windows itself will use. If RAM use is higher, we need to investigate why, and in that case please click the Startup tab in the Task Manager and post a screenshot of that. This will hopefully show what else is using more RAM than it should right on startup.
also, i use reshade do you think that may be a problem
@zelneciaaaa Yes, Reshade can definitely be contributiing to the issue. So please do try playing without it. But please also let me know how much memory your computer is using right after you restart it, before you've opened anything yourself. If it's more than 2.0 GB, or 50% of the system RAM, according to the Task Manager, I'd like to see the Startup tab of the Task Manager, not Windows settings as is in your screenshot.

@zelneciaaaa Sims 4 has apparently become a bit more demanding, or at least a bit more prone to lagging, since the most recent patch. It might only affect computers that were already struggling to run the game, and it might have to do with the new neighboorhood stories feature; I haven't really looked into it. But it's possible things will smooth out again after another patch. You can also try turning down the graphics options to the absolute minimum to see whether it helps, and turn them back up one at a time from there.
If the lag gets worse, or you notice a pattern to it, let me know. And I'm still curious how much memory Sims 4 is using when the lag happens, as opposed to when it's running well.
my problem now is its freezing alot like when i click on things and the screen would just freeze up

@zelneciaaaa Right, so your computer is still using almost all the memory it has just when running the game. RAM use will fluctuate a bit while you're playing, not a huge amount but enough to cause temporary lag if you're right on the border of what your system can handle already. Still, there are steps you can take that may help, for example playing while your computer is offline (sign into Origin and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi before pressing Play) and not having any background apps running, as you're doing now.
Reshade will add to the resources your computer needs to use to run Sims 4, so it's best not to add it back.
What would probably help the most is adding more RAM to your computer, if you're willing to do so or know someone who can do it for you. Crucial lists your laptop has having a free slot where you could add up to 16 GB:

Even another 4 GB would likely make a significant difference, although an 8 GB module is usually only marginally more expensive. And to be clear, you don't need to buy from Crucial; I'm just using their site to confirm that your laptop is upgradable.
