Sims 4 household won't load

When I play the sims 4 it usually works fine. However, the other day I downloaded outdoor retreat from origin and now the family I play with on the sims 4 won't let me play them or any other families. When you get past the main menu of the game and then get to pick the family you are playing with mine starts loading them and then goes right back to the main menu. What's going on please help. Tried everything and nothing seems to be working, what's going on? Is it my game or something wrong with the server? Disappointed in EA, as I can not play anything and if it does not fix will not be buying any sims ever again!!
