My game keeps crashing. This has been happening since the last patch back in August. I do play with mods. However, I have played without them to make sure. When I did play vanilla, the game still crashed the same way it would if I had my mods in. I have repaired my game several times in the last month. Today, I completely uninstalled and reninstalled my game. A new clean folder and everything. I tested my game without mods. Crashed. I test my game with the newly updated mods because of yesterday's patch. Crashed. My game doesnt freeze when its about to crash. So, I dont get a warning at all. It just crashes. My isnt unplayable at all. There a few times it has lasted a few hours without crashing. But, the amount of crashing Ive been having is still crazy. Please help! I will not be doing that. I have seen other post by you and I am not doing the run around with it. I know you are trying to make it my computer's fault why it won't work. I literally was playing just fine all night last night. Literally nothing happened until I downloaded the two new kits. I up date my drivers on a regular basis. This is a GAME issue. It is a widespread issue. There are many with this same issue...that literally happened after the kits were downloaded. Same thing with there last super big update. I will not be doing the run around. EA needs to test their crap out before releasing it. I have never has so many issues until that big update awhile ago. Thanks thou.

I started to play, and whenever i want to put kitchen cabinets in my house, my game crashes, it's done the same when i tried to edit my sims as well. I tried playing with and without mods and repairing the game, but nothing changes....

@LunarAmethyst21 I totally understand, it isn't a computer issue for the most of us. I just wish we had a proper answer and were told straight up "Hey don't bother enabling Direct X 11 it's still broken" or not even release it, than having to waste our time with these so called work arounds.

That won't work. I have everything updated, completely erased all files in my sims 4 folder, have no mods...and it still shuts down without warning. I can't even build a house. This didn't happen til I bought the two kits. I started a completely new save file just to play. Also, scenarios has disappeared from my selections.

Yeah this has been an issue with me since DirextX 11. I literally cannot play on it without my game crashing somehow or getting into an infinite loading screen. My PC is just fine and can handle DirectX11, or atleast it should. I took out all mods and tried everything but I still get this issue

@eclectic_sims Hello, if you find the answer please let me know !! I updated my sims yesterday, and did the same with my mods. @eclectic_sims Please update your graphics driver, which is ten months old. You can get the newest driver here:

Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator." Restart your computer after installing and before trying to play.

Please also remove any files in ConfigOverride, in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4.

If you get another crash, try switching back to DirectX 9 mode, which is an option in the graphics settings, to the right of post processing. Let me know whether it helps. If it does but you'd rather use DX11 mode, we can keep troubleshooting.

For the CAS issue, does it happen with no mods or custom content present, and nothing in ConfigOverride? If so, please provide a dxdiag.

@b1pedalcat and @gtsar83 If you'd like help with your issue, please remove your Mods folder and any files in ConfigOverride, in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. You don't need to save your progress.

If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Hey, just getting back to you on my game. I have switched back to DirectX 9. It hasn't crashed since I switched. Thanks for the help!
