Sims 4 Keeps Crashing on Launch

Okay, so I've tried repairing the Sims 4, running the app (EA and Sims 4) as administrator, uninstalling and reinstalling EA and the Sims 4, running a clean boot, and updating the drivers on my computer, but the Sims 4 still shows a white screen for about 3-4 sec before crashing back to the EA application.

I am attaching a dxdiag.txt file here, but I really don't know what else I can do to get the Sims 4 running...

I was able to play the Sims 4 for about 3 hours the day before this issue started, and I was able to open the game once after uninstalling and reinstalling it, but then upon trying to open it again, I got the same white screen and crash issue.

Please let me know if there is something else I can do!

  • andrsa07  Please force Sims 4 to run in DirectX 11 mode.  Open the EA App, click Sims 4 > Manage > View properties, and add -dx11 to the command line box.

I updated the game just now as EA requested and the game works!

I tried these out, but my Sims 4 is still crashing :( I did notice, though, that when I was looking for the TS4_Launcher_x64, I couldn't find that in my settings or the Nvidia Control Panel. Could this be an issue?

Otherwise, here is the copy-pasted info from the crash:

  • 0iry0l9sk6hq  This error says Sims 4 crashed due to an error with a component of the AMD graphics driver, again, which again, it shouldn't be using.  So just to be totally clear, you have told the Nvidia Control Panel to use the Nvidia GPU when running TS4_x64, AND you've selected the high-performance option for TS4_x64 in Windows settings, AND you're trying to play with the laptop plugged in?
