Sims 4 Keeps Crashing on Loading Screen

Whenever I try to play a household, the game just crashes on the loading screen. It does this after I buy a house for my sims and it goes to the loading screen so I can automatically play the household too. I know it isn't the mods I have because I took them out before trying to play again and the same thing happened.

A little bit of a more specific description of what is happening: I would select new game and create a sim, and it would load fine. I would select a season, and the place, and it would be perfectly fine. I can click on the properties and buy them just fine. It loads for a little bit but then the music falters for a second and the game just closes. It doesn't even give a crash report either. The game just closes. If I select the play button or "load game" to play an already existing household, it doesn't bring me into the household automatically like it normally does to pick up where I last left off, it instead loads into the screen of the town and all the properties in the town (or city). If I select my sims' house and click to play, it loads for a little bit, the music falters for a second, and the game closes without a crash log so I can see what the problem was just like if I had started a new game. The game is unplayable like this (literally).

Help??

  • @SalemCrossing  Please remove your existing game folder from Documents\Electronic Arts; you can put it on your desktop.  Launch the game, start a new save (no need to spend much time in CAS, since this is just for testing), and see whether you can load it fully.  If so, save, quit, reload, and try again, just to make sure.  If it still works, the problem is something in your old game folder.  The first suspect is always outdated mods or custom content, so test those files before doing anything else.  You can test everything in the new game folder; any batch that causes another crash needs to be split and tested again until you've found the problem.  Don't move your saves over until you've confirmed that everything else works.  Here's an explanation of everything you'll find in your game folder:

If you can't get the game to load properly even with a completely clean game folder in place, before you've moved anything into it, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
