Sims 4 keeps freezing and crashing!

I got a new PC but my Sims 4 keeps freezing then crashes like the whole game shuts down! I have 12gb RAM, 256gb of storage and 500gb free on an external harddrive, a 2gb graphics card, windows 10 pro. I don't get why it doesn't work? I went onto Can you run it and it said my pc was more than good enough to run the Sims! It's so frustrating because I've tried uninstalling then reinstalling, tried repairing the game, updating drivers and my graphics card, changing the settings to low, running as administrator, playing the game from my external harddrive. Nothing is working! I just want to play the Sims 😭😭 help!

  • KendalKins213  Sorry for the late reply.  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

If you get another crash, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
