Sims 4 lag
A few days ago my game became super laggy after only playing for a few minutes. I have a custom gaming pc built for the sims so this is super unusual and frustrating. I have done the usual trouble sh...
@simsvieplays Your dxdiag doesn't list any Sims 4 errors, just two Sims 3 crashes and a number of Windows update errors. The dxdiag also shows that the system's page file is almost all used, which, given that it has more than enough physical memory, suggests that you have a lot of background tasks eating up resources. So I'd suggest cleaning up the update issue first. Start by running a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:
Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates. If any install, restart again afterwards.
Before trying to play Sims 4 again, restart your computer, wait five minutes without opening anything, and open the Task Manager and wait another 30 seconds or so. Then see how much memory is in use, as in, the percentage value in the Memory header. It should be under 25% after a restart with nothing open, but if it's more than that, click the Startup tab and post a screenshot of what you see.
Test the game again, and if you get the same kind of lag, please test a new save instead, for comparison's sake, after restarting your computer yet again.
