Switching to EA App turned my multi-language collector's edition into region-locked 3-language standard edition The Sims 4. First of all back in February when I was forced to switch to EA App I noticed that I can't choose English language when installing The Sims 4 anymore. Then I noticed that on my games list it said that I have a "Standard Edition" (first picture) instead of "Collector's Edition" that I bought back in 2014. Then I tried to do a Origin language work-around to download the game in English because it always worked back in Origin days. It didn't work but i realized something. Origin showed two versions of The Sims 4 in my library. The Collector's Edition one and the Standard Edition one that was (according to Origin) added to my account on february 10th (right when i switched to EA App. It also appeared in my "Orders") [second picture]. So EA App for some reason switched the game I bought (Collector's Edition that had tens of languages available for it) with the new version that only has 3 available languages. I mean they did it without my consent and they just hid the game I bought and replaced it with inferior version. I mean is it even legal? I literally can't play the game because I can't download it in English. I tried contacting the support but they told me that this is a popular problem and that there's nothing left for me to do but just wait until it gets resolved (it's been a problem since EA App started existing and they clearly don't do anything about it). I'm writing it here because I'm desperate. I can't play the game I've been playing for 10 years. What do I do?

I used to have a multi-language version of the Sims 4 and play it in English. And then a "standard" version (it doesn't even have english language option) was forced on my account. If your main concern in this situation is absence of language you want to play the game in, I found the solution. Contacting around 7 EA advisors proved to be useless by the way. I deleted EA app, downloaded Origin and downloaded a patch that prevents all the EA App updates suggestions in Origin. I downloaded the game through Origin choosing my preffered language (don't change the folder where the game is being installed. leave it be "Origin Games"). Then I switched to EA App that automatically uninstalled Origin (don't uninstall Origin yourself because it's gonna make the game uninstall too. let EA App handle this). And voila, the game is in the language you prefer AND is on EA App. This fix doesn't change the fact that in your library there is still a "Standard" version of the game that was forced on your account. But it fixes the language problem. I should warn that the language is probably going to change if you do a "repair" for the game or just update the game (not sure about this one), but you can just do this whole routine again.
