not even booting?

this is my first time doing this, so bear with me! my game won't even begin to boot. i click launch on either ea or steam, it says 'preparing game,' opens an entirely white sims window, and then almost immediately closes with no error warning present. i've tried everything i can find. i have mods and cc installed, but i've moved them into an unrelated folder, and nothing opens. i've deleted what other users say is corrupted, and still nothing. i've verified files, cleared the cache, reinstalled... nothing. any ideas, anybody?

UPDATE: I have gotten the sims to boot, and I've gotten through the CAS process for my starting sim, but now, when I pick a lot for her, it starts loading, and then just teleports me right back to lot selection as if I never did. I've tried several lots with several sims and its the same. I suspect it's a mod but I'm looking into it

  • r8yne_  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

If that doesn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
