Sims 4 Long Loading Screens

I'm having the same problem, and it's only been getting worse over time... I'm now up to 2:40 minutes loading time between lots. 

Things I have tried and did not work:

- Clearing my cache (which never has more than 2 files)

- Clearing all unplayed sims (Which I've been doing since day 1 anyways.)

- Clearing my Library/tray folder

- Playing the sims offline

- Playing with Origin shut down

Out of curiosity, and an attempt to reduce the size of my save file I also:

- Deleted the entire existing population of sims (including both played and unplayed) with the exception of 1 family (containing 2 adult sims and a baby)

- Bulldozed all lots with exception on 1 (Which I saved for that one family.)

None of this worked, and did not reduce the size of my save file.

When I start a new game the loading time is perfect (5 seconds max), which is what I experienced when I first started playing my current saved game. 

* I just wanted to add the rest of the game works perfectly for me, no lag at all. It's just the loading screen bewtween lots that's giving me issues. My main conceren is that it keeps getting longer overtime with no end in sight.

How big are your saves and how much RAM does the process ts4.exe use for you ?

- My saves are between 6,109 KB and 6,300KB

- ts4 RAM usage is:

1,112,264KB (But rises to around 2,302,654KB when loading a lot.)

I don't know if this info helps, but my overall RAM usage spikes to 75% when loading a lot, and my CPU Usage rises to about 50%. I have most background programs already turned off, the rest are needed to run windows as far as I can tell.

You only have 4 GB. So Windows need 1 GB which leaves around 3. So EA needs to do something about that RAM usage.

I am having the exact same problem.  My loading screens when a new game starts are fine, but as the game goes on, they get slower and slower.  It means I don't take my Sims out of their home neighborhood very often.  I have tried clearing the caches, but that doesn't help.  Saving and exiting the game are fast; it's just the loading screens from the map that takes over a minute.  

I don't think it's my computer, though I'm hoping there's something I can tweak.  While it's a laptop, it's a fairly high-end laptop -- or at least it was last year -- and greatly exceeds the recommended requirements.

Your graphics drivers are a bit dated. Try updating those.

Also how big is your save game ?

I really don't want to update my graphics drivers as since it's an unusual configuration -- laptop with dual video cards that run in SLI -- stability can be an issue and I don't have trouble with anything graphics wise.  Especially since new games don't have the slow-loading screen issue.  

I have turned off SLI for Sims 4 as some games don't like it, and while that hasn't seemed to make a difference, turning off on-line play in the options seems to have made a small improvement.

The save is 3.02 MB.  If it's the size of the save (though this seems small), what can be done, if anything, to reduce that?

Edit: In the interest of science (and being secure enough to know I won't blow up my machine), I did update to nVidia's latest drivers.  It had no effect on load times whatsoever.  It's easy enough to roll back if the new drivers give me issues in other games.

Second edit: I also want to mention that both my OS and Sims 4 are on the same mSSD drive.  And at first, the games had very fast load times, which is why I'm thinking there is some other issue going on with games that have been played for 40+ hours.

Yes I have only 4GB RAM, I was actually thinking of getting more but I have seen reports of other players having the same problem and their builds contain RAM that far exceeds my own. So I rather not waste the money right now, and hope it gets addressed in a future update.

For now I will just have to keep my Sims home most of the time, thank you for your time Crinrict!

3 MB is not big. That should be fine.

Did you guys check on the RAM usage at the time (task manager) ?

Also do you have lots of items in the Tray folder (not sure if we covered that)

No, I don't run a lot extra -- I have Origin, Steam, Razer Game Booster (I've tried it both with this enabled and not -- makes no difference) and a few system utilities.  I sometimes am running Chrome as well, but that has no effect on the load times either.

I did not notice a signicant difference in CPU usage (about 45%) and memory usage (sits around 2GB) when loading and just playing.  It goes up a little -- the CPU usage maybe goes up to 55% and the memory usage to a little over 2GB as opposed to a little under.

I tried deleting all the extra townies -- that made no difference either.

This save has probably close to 45 hours on it at this point.  New games are fast.
