sims 4: my mouse controls don't work properly in build mode

so ive found that after resetting my laptop to factory settings, and then redownloading sims 4, alongside all the extra downloads, i am no longer able to free place and free rotate objects in build mode, despite using the proper bb.moveobjects on cheat. ive tried to not only completely delete and reinstall the game, but ive also attempted to recalibrate my mouse to the best of my abilities. nothing seems to be working for me. i turn the cheat on and off, i restart the laptop, i repaired the game through the ea app. nothing. every object, build, or furniture mode just snaps to a predetermined position on the grid. ive been trying to fix this problem for what feels like hours now... im so frustrated i dont even want to really touch the game without a resolution. if it helps at all, im currently attempting to run the game on windows 11.
