Sims 4 not launching through Steam/Cannot Uninstall app version

So here's how my problem started; I decided to change the quality of the Sims models with the in-game settings, changing stuff from low to high and all that to see what my computer could handle. It worked fine for awhile but then I got performance problems. So I decided to change it a bit more to see if that worked, and restarted my game. When I tried to open it back up, it crashed as soon as the title screen popped up, so I tried again and it did the same thing. So I decided to try and validate the game files through Steam to see if that would do anything. Turns out it made it worse as when I launch the game, it took a few seconds before kicking me back to the EA app and sent a "Game failed to launch." Error. When I checked it on the EA app, it showed what I attached. I didn't know how to uninstall the EA app version and all the guides I saw were for Origin or didn't fit my issue. So I uninstalled the steam version to see if that would count. It did not work. So now I'm asking here to see if anyone knows what to do.

  • @BetlViolet  Please download Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine) and see whether it finds a copy of Sims 4.  If so, uninstall it:

    • Put aside your Sims 4 folder in Documents\Electronic Arts and rename it to something that doesn't include the words "Sims 4."
    • Launch Revo, select Sims 4 from the list, and click Uninstall.
    • Once the game is uninstalled, select "Moderate" under "scanning modes," and click Scan.
    • Review the list, in case there's something you want to save; otherwise, click Select All, and then Delete.
    • Close Revo, and restart your computer.

While you're looking, see whether you have the Sims 4 CAS Demo installed, and if so, remove it.

Uninstall the EA App with Revo as well.  I don't have instructions for that at the moment, but the process should be straightforward.  Restart again when you're done.

Reinstall the EA App, then install Sims 4 from Steam if that's what you'd like to use or if you own DLC within Steam.  Open the EA App before trying to launch Sims 4.

I was wondering if there's any other way to uninstall it? if you know of course.

@over1999  The reason I suggested using Revo Uninstaller is because the original poster couldn't uninstall Sims 4 the normal way.  If you can do so, either through the EA App or through Windows, then you don't necessarily need to use Revo.

What problem are you currently seeing?  Let me know, and I'll try to help.
