Sims 4 Not Opening

When I open origin and try to play the sims nothing happens. The game doesn't open. All that happens is my mouse would load for a few seconds and then nothing. This has been going on for a few days now.

Go to Documents/ElectronicArts - inside will be The Sims4 folder
Step 1. Rename The Sims4 folder to "The Sims4 old"
Step 2. Fix the game in Origin
    Origin/Library - right-click on TS4 - option "Repair game"
You have to wait until Origin will fix all packs, not only the base game.
Step 3. Turn on the game - a new game folder will be created and you will have two - one old, one new
Step 4. Check if you still have this problem in the newly created game folder.
If the game will launch let me know and I will tell you what to do next so that you have your old saves and library

If it will not work could you post your Computer's DxDiag?
To gather a DxDiag on your computer, please follow the steps here: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/pc/how-to-gather-dxdiag-information/

    I don't work for EA
  • I'm experiencing the same problem. My game wont open and neither will Origin. I tried opening it through windows and signing in as myself and that worked, but I can't find the repair game option. I've tried everything but the kitchen sink to fix it. Nothing seems to be working. What do I do?

    @SlothLoverAmy

You need to log in on your account, then click the Origin icon on the desktop. When the page will open, look on the left side for "My games library" - or similar (My Origin isn't in English). Click it and you will see The Sims4 cover.
Next, right-click on this cover and choose the option "repair game"

If your game created a new folder it is time to restore your old save and library

Step 1. Delete in the new game folder following folders:
    "saves" and Tray.
Step 2. Go to "The Sims 4 old" folder and copy - your "saves " folder.
Step. 3, Paste this folder in a newly created game folder.
Step 4. Do the same with Tray folder and TrayDeleteItems file
Step 5. Check if there are newly updated version mods you are using.
Then copy and paste your mods and CC from old mods folder to the new one. First copy the scripts mods every time checking if the game is working properly. If you have a lot of CC try 50/50 method ( divide your CC into smaller batches for example 50 pieces in one subfolder and check these subfolders one by one)
Step. 5. Launch the game and check if this problem also disappeared in this old save. However, it may happen that although the new saves will not have this error anymore, the old save will remain damaged.
The last step - delete The Sims4 old folder.

You had put the broken mod or CC in the mods folder again. There is no other explanation
This time move the mods folder to the desktop and once more test your mods and CC very precisely. Put one script mod and try to launch the game. If it works then put next and so on... You need to find a culprit and either remove it or replace it with an updated version

I know it is boring and time-consuming work checking all one by one but it is the price you are paying for these CC and mods because, after each update, most scripts mods and a large part CC will be spoiled and will spoil the game.
