You only have integrated graphics from Intel which is very weak for gaming. You can try to upgrade the driver here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/
If that does not help try to lower graphics setting in The Sims 4.
Since you have a desktop you can also consider adding a dedicated graphics card. Check your manual to see what can be added.

I have a laptop actually, I know my graphics aren't great but the game has performed just fine in the past (I keep the settings on medium or low), is there any reason why it would start doing this randomly now? I've played the game on the same laptop for years now.
