Game wont even launch before it crashes

I could really use some help. After the most recent update my game wont even launch. I have updated my graphics, repaired the game, deleted all mods, and uninstalled and re installed the game. When I try to launch the game it flashes between a black and white screen with a little loading dial. It wont even make it to the home screen before just freezing on the white screen with the dial. This has been going on for like 2 days. Could really use some help! Thank you!

  • CosmicPuddyKat  If you have a newer HP gaming laptop (Victus or Omen) with an Intel processor, please try one of these workarounds:

None of these works for everyone, but something almost always does, so keep trying the workarounds until you find one that lets you play.

If these don't help, or you have a different computer, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs, that is if you can get that far.

If you still can't play, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

I'm having the same issue where my game just won't launch. It'll flash at me for a few seconds and then crash. My drivers are up to date, windows is up to date, I've verified integrity of game files, tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I've tried running both steam and EA as an admin, then I moved the Sims 4 folder out of documents and onto my desktop. My C drive also has plenty of space, but nothing has worked so far D: Is there any other things I can try? I don't have any mods or CC either.

  • J1gglyJupiter  Thanks for the dxdiag, which makes the issue clear.  I've moved your post to another thread about the same issue on the same class of computer (newer HP gaming laptop with an Intel processor).  Please see my previous post.
