@puzzlezaddict I still get the same error. And when I reinstalled, I installed it to the C drive.
Any other ideas on what to try? Do you think it’s because this computer is old and I’m running Windows 7 for it?
@amf189 The problem might be Windows 7 combined with the age of the hardware. There is a known error related to Windows 7 and Sims 4 in DirectX 11 mode, but the problem goes away in DirectX 9 mode, and you're getting a different error than those other people. I really don't know what else to suggest here, unfortunately. I can't prove that the problem is the OS or the old hardware, but it's a very reasonable possibility. If you want to take one more shot at it, I'd suggest doing a clean reinstall and using a folder on D (which is the same physical drive, but the different address in the file system might help). It's the same process as before, just with a different install location.
Other than that, I suppose you could reinstall Windows, if you're willing. But it might be time to start looking for a new computer. Aside from all these issues, the newer one should be so much faster both in Sims 4 and in general.
