Sims 4 not working with windows remote access

I am trying to use my work laptop to remote into my gaming desktop to play Sims 4. Both are PCs with the same version of Windows 10. I cannot download new programs onto the laptop but I have access to most system settings. I have complete access to my desktop.

I am able to successfully remote access the desktop and everything works perfectly except Sims 4. It fails to load. If I start Sims 4 locally on the desktop and then remote in, the Sims 4 window becomes white or freezes completely. As soon as I log into the desktop, it is working fine. The issues are isolated to when I try to play via remote access.

  • @lkonz001  I don't know enough about remote access to have a good grasp on the situation, so maybe someone else will chime in with more ideas.  But one suggestion I do have is trying to play in windowed mode, and perhaps at a lower resolution than you would normally.  You can set the mode while using the desktop directly, or you can tell Origin to launch the game in windowed mode: open your game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, select Game Properties > Advanced Launch Options, enter -w in the command line box, and save the change.
