@Swanehilde As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.
If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

You can't install your Steam-owned DLC through the EA App, by design. Anything you own in Steam can only be used in a Steam install.

I have tried removing all my Sims 4 from Documents somewhere and start with a clean folder but all I´ve got is the same error. EA app keeps on launching and then closing and repeat. It´s frustrating because it worked just fine until it doesn´t anymore. I´ve attached my dxdiag here and would like to say thank you for helping me! 🙂

@Swanehilde Please uninstall the EA App with Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine). Restart your computer, reinstall the App, open Settings > Application, and disable the in-game overlay. Then try again to play.
If this doesn't help, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor. Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day. Today is on the right.
Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent attempt to launch Sims 4, specifically after reinstalling the App. If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here. If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.
Please also let me know what antivirus you use and whether OneDrive is running on this computer, even if you never use it.

Hello I was also having the same problem and re installing the EA app fixed the problem. I wanted to say thank you. If it wasn't for this advice I would have continued thinking the problem was on steams end.
