Sims 4 Stuck on Loading Screen
I have had the Sims 4 for a while, I can't remember exactly, but I've had it for maybe over a year and a half. Over the summer of 2015 I was downloading custom content with my friend, so we could have similar cc. I accidentally downloaded a piece of Sims 3 custom content, which I then immediately deleted. My game did not work after that and I could not figure out why. I got a new laptop for Christmas that year, put all my game saves and cc on a flashdrive, and installed it onto the new laptop. When I tried to open it I was met with a message that directly told me what cc was wrong with my game, something that didn't show on my old computer. I deleted the piece of custom content, and the game still would not open. I reinstalled it, and now it opens. However, it gets stuck on the Sims 4 logo before I even get to the homepage. My screen is not frozen as I can still move the mouse and the game music is still playing. The only was I can exit is logging out of my computer. I have reinstalled my game since then, hoping it would fix the problem, and the same thing has happened. I would like to keep my custom content if possible, as I have 652 items. Any ideas? -Paige
This is a CC problem sadly. I suggest taking all your CC out and testing the game without it.
When the game runs fine without you'll have to find the broken CC. You can do that with the 50/50 method, where you put half in and test the game, and keep splitting until you find the broken CC.
There is also a program or mod that you can run, but I don't know the name, and I couldn't link it on this forum. So you'll have to Google that.
The problem with CC and mods is that when the game updates the CC/mods sometimes need an update as well. So your game hasn't worked since 2015, and we had a lot of updates since then, so it's very likely your CC and mods are outdated and need either an update, or need to be removed.
For updated versions you'll have to redownload the CC or mods, or contact the maker of the mods as EA doesn't support CC and mods.
