Sims 4 Ultra speed not working

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Playing the game
What happens when the bug occurs? The ultra speed x3 doesn’t work. When pressed it speeds up for a second and then goes back down to 1x speed.
What do you expect to see? The speed to go faster when the button is pressed
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No
during gameplay the 3x speed doesn’t work. I’ve searched countless forums and haven’t found anything that has helped so far. Was wondering if there’s something I can do to fix it. I’ve read places that uninstalling certain packs may help but I don’t want to lose any content that I’ve paid for. It makes gameplay harder when they go to sleep or work because time goes by so slow.
