Sims 4 update stuck on preparing

Hi. I'm on PC. and Ive tried SO many things now.  removed the cache on the app, restarted the computer, EA app online and offline, Ive tried to cansle the download of the update, and even trie...

From Australia; I went to play the Sims4 at 0900 but saw it needed an update so I followed the prompts to start the update, it is now 1500 and it is still at the (preparing) stage of the update.

I have done a restart on my PC itself and the update is still at the same stage (preparing).

If it'll help the date as of here in Australia is Saturday the 16th of December.

      I've tried everything in this thread and i still get the error message. So disappointing
