gabarnes98 Without knowing what computer you have, I have no idea whether you could actually benefit from a new one. But I can try to help with the error you're getting now, if you want. Before doing anything else, try repairing the game (EA App > Sims 4 > Manage > Repair), which should give you the updated version without requiring as much free space to go through.
If that doesn't help, or you'd like to know why this might be happening in general, please post a screenshot of the error. Please also provide a dxdiag. Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop. From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
