Sims 4 updating even though automatic updates are set to OFF in EA app

I have turned off automatic updates multiple times in EA app but every time there is an update for Sims 4, it starts uploading automatically when the EA app launches on start up of PC. 

When I check the settings, it will then have automatic updates turned back on in the settings even though I know I set them to off previously.

Sims 4 is the only game in my EA library so I'm unsure if this is an issue relating to the app or the game itself. 

Any suggestions appreciated - TIA!

    It pulled that on me today (again) and the setting is unchanged.  It happens here and there, in spite of the setting NEVER having been on for auto-updates.  It's been a persistent problem since they launched the app.

    HLE124​  Do you remember if you checked the box to "update games automatically" when you installed Sims 4?  It sounds like that would apply to the master auto-update option in the App settings, but maybe it has effects beyond that for the game(s) where it's selected.

    Other than that, I'm not sure why the setting is reverting.  Do you use some kind of cleaner app that deletes temporary files?  Do other EA App settings revert to default as well?

    No I don't think I've ever uninstalled it and definitely have never cleared the cache! It quite often opens on startup and has logged me out though (I'd say this happens maybe once every 5-10 times I load the PC up) and I have to log back in again.

    HLE124​  I've found that the EA App sometimes reverts a few of my settings after it updates.  But it doesn't happen all the time and certainly not often enough to affect every Sims 4 update.  Do you regularly uninstall and reinstall the App, or clear its cache?  The former would of course give you fresh settings, and maybe the latter too, although I haven't checked in a while.
