Installed the Paranormal pack a few hours ago, launched and played the game fine for a couple of hours. Exited the game, now I am unable to start the game again - nothing happens when I click Play from within Origin (or the game shortcut). Have tried rebooting PC and repairing the game in Origin but no different. I now have a very upset and anxious autistic daughter so any help would be much appreciated.
@Andyste1 Does your computer run Windows or macOS? What antivirus program do you use?

Andy - yo man I am having a VERY similar problem - I recently installed the Paranormal Pack and now the game is stuck in an "update required" state and won't launch. Clicking Play will result in the game saying an update is required. Origin, the giant pos that it is, will then verify it is up to date - and then when you try to subsequently launch the game it will say "Update Required" again. So aggravating as my girlfriend was pumped to play this - plus it always pisses me off when I pay for something and it doesn't work. Like what kind of industries does that happen in? EA should be required to have an easy and quick "Refund Now" button for each game in the first week if the crap does not work.
The following troubleshooting actions were followed but have not resolved the issue:
1. Repair using Origin Client
2. Remove all CC (Mods)
3. Delete The Sims 4 in the Documents folder to force clean refresh
4. Uninstalling then Reinstalling
5. Restarting computer after every step
I am not running AV and I am running Windows 10.
@Andyste1 I've moved your thread to the Sims 4 PC tech section.
Please try moving your entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily not read by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just see whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play for a bit. Let me know either way.
If the game doesn't open, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
