Sims 4 will not launch "error"

I have never had issues with my Sims game until the most recent Sims 4 update released on August 19, 2025. Since then, the game has been glitchy, and now I receive the same repetitive error every tim...

    sydney3kidney​ short4u​  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

    If you still can't play, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

    Thank you!! literally THE ONLY thing I have tried and have been able to actually open the game. None of my saves are there but thankfully I save most of my creations and lots to the gallery. But what do I do now? Do I just have to play it like this? It would be very unfortunate to have to start over after all these years.

    I've done the desktop thing but like what do you do from here? I have too many mods and stuff that I don't want to lose. It does run this way if The Sims is moved onto the desktop but what if I want all my progress back, then what?
