Sims 4 won’t launch, “Authorization Error”, “Couldn't access system resources”

My game won’t launch even though there was no new update for the Sims 4 or change in my antivirus app (Avast).

I played the game on the 29th and 30th of May (after the newest update, which I could install and play with without any problems). Then I didn’t play until yesterday, June 3rd, when I tried to launch the game but suddenly got a warning message saying the game couldn’t be launched due to an error and that I should use the “repair game” option in the EA app, which I did. However, during that repair process, it got stuck at 60% and I then got a message saying “authorization error”, “There is a problem with your security authorization. We couldn't access your system resources. Make sure your security permissions are set correctly and try again.” (translated from German, might not be the exact same wording in English).

I was confused, since this never happened before and there was no change in my antivirus program Avast. So I tried repairing again and again, it got stuck at 60% each time. Then uninstalled & reinstalled TS4, moved my old Sims folders so new ones would be created. Then I clicked on the play button in EA app, but immediately got an error message “the file or directory is damaged or unreadable” (which was from my PC itself, not an EA error message this time), and the game didn’t launch & I saw that new Sims folders weren’t created either.

So I tried adding these exception paths in Avast:

                C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin\TS4_DX9_x64.exe

                C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin\TS4_x64.exe

                C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop\EADesktop.exe

But that didn’t help either. Microsoft Defender Firewall is not active because I’m using Avast. I also hadn’t installed any new mods. I changed nothing at all, so I have no clue why this is happening and why I seem to be the only one getting these specific error messages all of a sudden. I hadn’t moved the game folders or changed the installation path either, and other EA app games that are saved in the same EA Games folder still work. I also checked my drive ( C: ) and it had no problems either. The only thing I did was change the language of the EA app from German to English. Could this have caused the issue?

I really hope someone can help me, I don’t know what else to do ☹️
