Sims 4 won't update or reinstall at all, please help :/

You mentioned uninstalling and reinstalling Sims 4. Did you uninstall/reinstall Origin as well?

  When you first start origin after restarting your PC, is the orange [Play] button already Dark orange, or is it bright orange?
