Sims cant do anything and gameplay frozen

I'm not sure if its because of the new patch or because i added the new home decorator game pack but I am unable to get my sims to do anything because I cant click on it. At first it was trying to use the laptop and the the command would take 2 minutes before it will show me the menu. Then it would take hours for my Sim to do some simple task like wash the dishes, shower or use the bathroom. Now I am unable to play the game at all pretty much. Nothing highlights so I am unable to to do any commends for the them to do anything. I am even unable to switch sims because I cant click on them and even the shortcut of using the space bar does not work either. Pause and play get stuck with it in the play command but the screen is still highlighted red when in play mode. 

I have repaired the game three times before reinstalling it yesterday. When i tried to play again it was still the same. I removed old saves out of the folder and cleared the cache as well. 

I have all the expansions pack except for the new Cottage living, 9 game packs, 11 stuff packs, and no kits.

What am I supposed to do now?

    Hi @Masonld

    you said you removed old saves, does that mean you started a new one and had the same issue on that or just that you deleted some other saves that you had in the saves folder and it's not working on a certain save game ?

    If it's a certain save game, how big is that file ? If you go to the household manager under other households, do you have lots of households there without any Sims in them ?

    I just deleted old saves and continued the last one I have been using. When this first happened I went into the manage household and removed the ones that i had managed and put the recommended sims back to 8 and now I have about 72 sims now in my managed ones.

    I did include sims that i had in my household that I had saved in my household gallery.

    No. There is nothing wrong with my household, in world and not. There is no blank ones.

    I just started a new save and played for 30 minutes and it was back to normal. But what do i do about my old saves? I dont want to lose all my progress since I have been working on it for months, Is there any way to repair it?

    @Masonld Many apologies for not getting back to you. While switching over to a new computer, I must have missed that you sent me your save.

    I've checked it now and it works fine for me. It is a rather big save game though so depending on your computer, that might be an issue,

    Do you still have the same issues after the latest patch ?
