Sims crashes after newest update

Since the newest update (29th of April 2025) the game keeps crashing after a few minutes. Dont use CC or Mods and never have in the recent save file. Played before the update and everything was fine.

    copying from my other comment-

    What I did is go into the "saves" folder of the save that kept crashing and first removed the file ending in ".save."

     I then picked the most recent ".save.ver(insert number) backup file which is ".save.ver0" (but you can choose any of them) and removed the ".ver0" part of the file name and it then converted into a save file type.  Doing that loaded it back to the second most recent save state and it worked fine for me so I didn't really lose any progress but you may or not have to try with the other versions if that one doesn't work.

     been playing game since lounched,I know what I must do,I've tried all of that and none of appliccations are runing,I ccant try it now since my game is redownloading,gonna try again,and let u know has it worked,thank you for answering

    Heya MBsim0​, beacastill496​, and Udomiell​ , 

    We have some basic troubleshooting steps that tend to resolve these issues post-patch, could you confirm that you've tried them all?

    • Clear Sims 4 cache:
      • Go to: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4
      • Delete the file named localthumbcache.package

    • Remove mods/CC temporarily:
      • Rename the entire Mods folder to something else and test launching.

    • Repair game through EA App:
      • Right-click The Sims 4 > Repair.

    • Update GPU drivers:
      • Make sure your graphics card drivers are the latest from NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel.

    • Disable overlays:
      • Disable EA App, Discord, Steam overlays if active.

    My drivers and everyything is alwayys up to date,so it's not that,can u think of anything else,exept if it's not EA's mess up...again.

    No  DxDiag or anyything similiar,I've checked and did all,everyything is working fine,even logged in other games not owned by EA,and had no issue,so ccan someone pls let me know whats solution pls,if and when u find out.

    Same here,never had this issue before,i am on PC,myy ccomputer is all up to date,I am using mods and cc,but never had issue like this that I cant even enter game,it crashes while loading screen,tried removimg old saves,mods and cc,repair,now instaling whole buncch of crap I own again,if that doesent solve it,it's EA's mess up,it's to launccher,so if it is some bug or whatever ccan u just fix it and tell us,so we don't waste time....kinda frustrating,like big time.

    I'm having the same problem. I updated the game, and after a few seconds, it crashed.
    I've tried everything: removing mods, repairing... I don't know if I should wait for another update.

    Hi again :D

    there's some crashes listed in your DxDiag with the old version. Did you have any crashing issues with 1.113 as well ?

    There should be newer graphics drivers for your card. Can you check if you can update those ?
