    @Kayla-nova  Either rename the Sims 4 folder in Documents\Electronic Arts to something else (it can even be "The Sims 4 old," just whatever you want), or move the folder to your desktop.  The game won't be able to find the folder whether it's removed or named and will therefore spawn a new folder in its place, one with no content.  The point is to see whether you get the same error in the new folder and then go from there.

@TigerReesePieces  Your dxdiag lists a number of Windowd update failures.  While these shouldn't directly influence SDX downloads, there could be a common underlying issue, and at any rate, it's a good idea to clean up those errors.  So please run a couple of basic checks on your Windows system files:

  • Hit Windows key-X
  • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
  • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes into the window, and enter
  • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
  • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
  • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
  • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes into the window, and enter
  • Post the message you receive here

Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates.  If any install, restart again afterwards.  Then test with a(nother) clean Sims 4 folder.

    Elevated permissions are required to run DISM.
    Use an elevated command prompt to complete these tasks.

    @bdialla  That means you chose the regular version of PowerShell or Windows Terminal, not the one with "Administrator" in the name.
