Sims do start up in another language but not in Dutch

I keep getting an error code when I try to start The Sims 4 in Dutch. If I delete everything and reinstall it in English, it starts up fine. But if I reinstall everything in Dutch, it doesn't start.

  • marden33  Do you still need help?  If so, please try renaming the folder in Documents > Electronic Arts called "De Sims 4."  You'll also have a "The Sims 4" folder from running the English version, but that folder is apparently fine, since your game works in English.  "De Sims 4" is only used for the Dutch version.

If this doesn't help, please post a screenshot of the error.

Yeah still can,t play the game i got a start up error i found out that it won,t instal in dutch because i get afther downloading it a again a english map whit the sims 4 not de sims 4 what i normal have. So i need to change it but it won,t work in ea when i want to download it in dutch it download in english.

  • marden33  What happens when you try to install the game in Dutch?  Do you not see the option at all; do you see the option but the download fails, and if so, with what error; does the game appear to install in Dutch but it's actually in English; or something else entirely?

If the problem is simply that you choose Dutch but the game installs in English, please do a clean uninstall of Sims 4 and the EA App, as described here:

Then reinstall the EA App and try again to install Sims 4 in Dutch.
