Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? The game freezes after initial loading screen, after closing out the Reaper Event information.
What happens when the bug occurs? The game screen freezes, or goes white. I can still hear the music playing and click but nothing happens.
What do you expect to see? I expect to be able to load my save file and play.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. The issue started when the Reaper Event began, the same was running slow and slowly glitching and crashing, after removing all the mods and CC, it seemed like it was working fine then crashed again, and haven't been able to reload any save file.
Initially when the issue started, the game would run slow, and my screen would blink black for a second and then get glitchy. Once that occurred it would crash.
I went and updated any mod that needed an update and it did it again, so I then removed the mods folder and ran a repair game in the EA App. (Below is the Report DX Diag 09.25.24).
Then on the 27th the game would not load at all, after the initial loading it would freeze before I would be able to load a save file. So I went ahead and uninstalled both EA App and Sims 4 game. After restarting the computer I downloaded the app and game. So right now, the Sims 4 game is set to brand new status, and its still freezing after initial load. I did another DX Diag 09.29.24 and I have no idea what else I need to try to figure out what my issue it.
I have a feeling its the Reaper Event, but I have no clue.
@CraftySimmer That sounds like an antivirus-related issue, so try setting exceptions in your AV for TS4_x64, TS4_DX9_x64, and TS4_Launcher_x64; or the entire Bin folder they're in. Set one for EADesktop.exe as well.
If this doesn't help, please disable the antivirus, temporarily of course, repair the game, and test again, just to be thorough. As long as you don't do anything else at the same time, your computer should be safe.
Your dxdiag shows more of the same errors, which could be because of a permissions issue, but it could also be more of a system issue. Do you own any other games you could test? It's worth trying to run something else graphically demanding for comparison's sake.
