gbarlow2 If you haven't already, please try playing in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.
If that doesn't help, please provide a dxdiag. Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop. From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Hello, here is the DXDiag for more information regarding my game.

Also, once, I removed my entire sims 4 folder out it seemed to be running okay with a clean folder. If this is a solution is there any way to recover my previous saved games?
gbarlow2 Sorry for the late reply. Your dxdiag doesn't have any red flags, although I do see a OneDrive-related crash. If you'd like to keep it away from your system, or at least your Sims 4 data, please see this guide for help:

For the saves, you can transfer them to the new Sims 4 folder and test them there, first without any mods or custom content, then with some of that content if the saves are fine without it. You don't need to save your progress if you want to avoid the effects of the missing mods or cc; the point is to test.

I have had the exact same issue. My computer specs are fine, I have zero custom content or mods. My sims will freeze and not do anything. This didn’t happen until after the last update. I have even moved my entire file out to a fresh file, and restarted and it still does it. Highly disappointed with how much money I have wrapped up into this game.
gbarlow2 Then please provide a dxdiag, and you can also try playing with your computer offline: sign into the EA App and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.
