Sims stand still and do nothing. Even after hotfix!

I have updated wit hte new hotfix but the sims still stand there ignoring the commands i give. they are in the list on the left but they do nothing then dissapear after a while. THey wont even feed their infant! I have tried resetting them and reparing the game. it is up to date as i said. i have no cc or mods.

This issue has made the game once again unplayable.

  • @LoptsEldr  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and let me know how it runs.

If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

If the new save is fine, copy one of your existing saves to the new folder, but nothing else yet, and see how it runs as well.

  • I've had the same issue, sims seem to not react at all to the infants and have trouble with commands (standing still). I had three going at once so it was most likely not helping my case, but the nanny also would stand there like an idiot without any actions.

There is something definitely broken or becomes broken in the commands. I have had better luck when I would first request to pick them up before doing anything: changing, etc.. but I did try what they suggested which was:

    Exit game completely

Move the '\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4' out of documents, just throw it onto your desktop temporarily...

Open the game as new and it will auto create a new '\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4' folder.

Exit game again and simply move your desired saved file into '\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\saves' folder and reload the game.

Delete The Sims 4 folder from your desktop or keep the saves as backup.

I definitely noticed a difference once reloaded.

@Cynica6  Do you still need help?  The issues with infants are well-documented and not an indication by themselves of any larger problems with either Sims 4 or the computer.  But if you're seeing this more globally, let me know whether it happens in a new save as well.
