Sims Suddenly Won't Launch (I've read everything & I don't understand)

Hello! I have been playing Sims 4 without any issues for a few weeks. I have DLC and mods and everything has been fine until yesterday. I purchased the Desert Luxe DLC on Steam and now the game won't launch. It says "Application Not Found." I haven't messed with any of the files or even used my computer at all since playing yesterday. I have a PC and downloaded the game from Steam. I have the EA app but after reading a bunch of help articles it sounds like I need Origin? I was able to play the game without it so I don't know what is happening. I have read many help articles and can't find anyone else with the same situation. Please help! Thank you!

DOUBLE UPDATE: I don't know how this worked but I fixed it myself. I repaired the EA app, as mentioned, then couldn't get EA to launch Sims. I restarted my computer (which was the first thing I tried when this problem began, ugh) and then it just completely runs as normal. Has my saves and everything (it didn't when I got it to launch but needed to restart). I hope anyone who has the same problem finds this thread.

  • This gets worse though... ok so it gives me an error having to do with how it has no association with an application that is needed... assumptively that is the EA app and when I don't start it apparently since it doesn't start automatically, it can't start sims 4... totally understandable... but what isn't understandable and what is FREAKING ME THE * OUT RIGHT NOW is the fact the EA app has finally made me aware of all the problems people are having! After just starting the EA app after backing out of sims 4 launch completely... I come into contact with slowing and glitching of google chrome, my screen hardly moves, EA also made my system have a stroke short term and * with my windows bar. I tried clicking them at some point and they jittered back and forth like crazy. It did stop and I was able to disable background services IN TIME hopefully it wasn't going to break my computer after the fact... Swear to god if all my * goes away MY ART everything I've worked on in the past year I will totally * screw you up EA... Fix... your *...

  • UPDATE: I tried to open the EA app and my computer couldn't find the app, so I tried to reinstall it. Then my computer said EA was already installed, so I clicked "repair" which allowed me to initially launch the game. Then Sims said I should relaunch the game so that I could use my new DLC, and now it won't open. EA opens and lets me click play, and then the game doesn't launch. I'm losing my mind.
