Sims Unplayable, Random Crashes, Completely Freezes PC

Hi there, I've been having this issue for about a month now. Sims is completely unplayable for me...I'm having constant random crashes that don't seem to have any rhyme or reason as to when they occur. About 80% of the time it completely locks my computer up and I have to turn off my PC from the switch on the back. Sims 4 is the only game I have any issues with. Repairing game files made the problem worse and more frequent and I do not play with mods or CC at all.

Any help would be appreciated.

Bump :) I've been really itching to play but it's so disheartening when it crashes 3-5 times in an hour

I'm having the same issues, it's crashed on me 5 times in the last 24-48 hours. I tried the steams "verify integrity of game files" and it said nothing was wrong but when i tried to play it crashed within 5 minutes this time. At least yesterday i could play for 20-30 minutes (before i did the verify files thing)

  • Mine hasn’t crashed but feels like it’s heading that way, I’ve just shut the whole thing down, been trying to play all day, the lag is unbearable, sims are just standing around and needs are decaying! I’m off before someone dies lol, hopefully they roll out an update soon

Yeah I tried to repair my game files directly through EA, but it made the crashes substantially more frequent. Huge bummer. I'm not sure why it's just specifically Sims causing issues.

I don't know if this will help, but here's the last crash I got...I don't know what any of this means. I just want to play the game I've spent $1,000+ on. Nothing I'm finding online is helping me at all. I've been troubleshooting for hours.

edit: JK, I guess I can't attach TXT files in the forum .-.

  • Tetusic PanBaked420  If you still need help, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

If you get another crash, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
