Try closing the game fully, move the saves folder out of the EA folder to your desktop. Then start the game.
The game will create a new saves folder.
Close the game again, and put one of the save files in the new save folder (make sure it's not slot_00000001.save, because that's the auto-save).
Check if that save file will show up in game.
Thank you for trying, but it's still a no-go. The game did make a new save directory, but putting a file in there didn't force it to do anything. Still can't start a new one, or continue an old one.

Try right clicking the game in Origin, and choose 'repair game'.
Can you make a back up of your files:
http://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/09/backups/And then try saving the game with a new file, see if that triggers the old files to show again.

I did try the repair game, but had no luck there either. Will try the other option you have listed. 🙂

It's mostly that you create a new family and move them in, they don't have to be perfect, it's just to test.
Make sure you close the game fully when you've done that, and restart it, see if the old saves are back.
