Sims won't load with DirectX 11

When sims first updated to Dx11 it worked fine for me but after a while I started having other issues, so I switched back to Dx9 and it works fine but its SUPER laggy to the point where it's getting hard to play. Also, I don't know if this has anything to do with it but when I try and load my game without any mods it doesn't load at all no matter what version I'm playing on. but it will load with mods enabled?

  • mcrttdgr1fam  Does the game load in a clean user folder?  Please try it and let me know.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

If your system defaults to DirectX 11 and you can't play, you can force DX9 mode through the EA App.  Open the App, click Sims 4 > Manage > View properties, and add -dx9 to the command line box.

Please also provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
