@puzzlezaddict Thanks a bunch for replying.
I think I have it set to what you call a "clean folder" I have my old saved stuff folder on my desktop. The issues i had before, I got rid of all my previous games and such and now it's like I just bought it and never played...a virgin game. There is no saved content yet at all. I haven't gotten to the point to be able to start a game at all. Not sure what playing in live mode means...told you, I am not tech savvy lol (sorry!)
I did figure out how to run the dxdiag, I attached the file 🙂
Thanks! for any and all help! Val
@delaney75 The dxdiag crashed while running multiple times, and the report is missing a lot of info. This could be a fluke in theory, but there are also a few Windows errors listed at the end. So I would suggest going straight to a repair install, rather than trying the intermediate steps first. This is the cleanest version of Windows you can get without wiping your computer.

This shouldn't delete your data, but if you get to step 14 and are NOT asked to keep personal files and apps, back out and start over.
Once you've run the repair install, please try again to play, and if you can't, please provide a new dxdiag. Some of the missing information could be critical.
Please also link the HP download page for your computer. Go here:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/desktops
Enter your serial number, choose your OS (just Windows 11 is fine) if asked, and you'll land on the driver download page. Please link it here. That page doesn't contain any information about your own computer, just the overall model.
Live mode refers to when sims are walking around doing stuff, as opposed to Create a Sim or Build/Buy mode.

@puzzlezaddict Hey, I finally got everything downloaded and tried...and it is also a no go. The game started and ran for enough time that i could get into the options, but then it froze...like usual I thought, but nope....my WHOLE COMPUTER FROZE, ugh!!!! I had to do a hard restart. Once I restarted, I ran the dxdiag and I attached it...I hope it can give you an idea of anything orwhatever...at this point I have no idea what I'm doing LOL it makes my head spin.
I just hate that I have spent so much money on all these game packs, ugh!
Thanks a bunch! V

@delaney75 Your dxdiag crashed again when running, which is not a good sign. I would suggest running a malware scan next. I'm not saying your computer definitely has a virus, only that it's a reasonable possibility at this point. Download Malwarebytes (the free trial is fine) from here:
https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download
Open it, click Scan > Custom Scan > Configure Scan, check all the boxes both for all scan types and any drive listed (C, for sure, and any other that appears), and let it do its job. This could take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours, depending on the amount of data and whether the scan finds anything., so you may want to set it to run while you're doing something else. Please attach its report so I can take a look.
